Conference Series: Advancing the Science of Cancer in Latinos
The Mays Cancer Center and the Institute for Health Promotion Research at UT Health San Antonio biennially hosts the international Advancing the Science of Cancer in Latinos (ASCL) conference in San Antonio, Texas.
The ASCL conference series started in 2018 with a mission to bring researchers, community leaders, physicians, and policymakers together – under one roof – to better understand the specific needs of the community, the health challenges they face, and solutions needed to advance health. We care about reducing the cancer burden for Latinos and all people.
The ASCL conference series has become a staple in the research community, pioneering efforts, celebrating contributions, and connecting voices to bring change for our population and community.
As we prepare for our 5th conference in February 2026, we are excited to share the hard work, research, and findings that you have been a part of since the beginning. By attending the 2026 ASCL conference, you will receive information on the latest biomedical and population-based findings on Latino cancer, identify effective approaches for engaging people in cancer research, and leave with your own ideas for advancing the science of cancer.
