DESCRIPTION:The Mays Cancer Center and the Institute for Health Promotion Research at UT San Antonio biennially hosts the international Advancing Cancer Research for Latinos and All Populations conference in San Antonio, Texas. The 2028 Advancing Cancer Research for Latinos and All Populations conference comes at a time where one, cancer is a top cause of death for Latinos, a group rising in number in the United States, and two, many Latinos and others struggle with access to preventive screenings, treatments, and survivorship and palliative care.To address these disparities, survivors, caregivers, researchers, physicians, and many other key stakeholders must come together to discuss timely research advancements, identify gaps in our knowledge and understanding, and develop goals that translate basic research into clinical best practices and effective community interventions while centering the non-medical drivers of health that perpetuate cancer health issues for Latinos and all people.As such, the vision for the 2028 Advancing Cancer Research for Latinos and All Populations is to unite stakeholders from across the nation and beyond who are conducting patient, community, and translational cancer research. By attending the 2028 Advancing Cancer Research for Latinos and All Populations conference, you will receive information on the latest biomedical and population-based findings on cancer, identify effective approaches for engaging people in cancer research, and leave with your own ideas for advancing the science of cancer for Latinos and all populations.Questions about the conference?
