INSTITUTE FOR HEALTH PROMOTION RESEARCH (IHPR)

Funding & Partners

The IHPR is partially funded by the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, the Regional Academic Health Center at UT Health Science Center, and the Cancer Therapy & Research Center at UT Health Science Center. The IHPR also receives federal, state and local grant funding, as well as support from partnerships and projects with non-profit and private groups.

IHPR collaborations:

  • Partnerships with faculty from UT Health Science Center and its other institutions
  • Leadership roles in conferences, coalition-building and networking within and among professional organizations
  • Continuing education and training for health workers
  • PhD and postdoctoral programs (e.g., guest lectures and advanced training programs in partnership with the UT School of Public Health campuses)
  • MPH programs (e.g., courses and special training at the UT School of Public Health campuses, UT San Antonio, UT Austin and Texas A&M University)
  • Allied professionals (e.g., guest lectures, courses and internships)
  • Medical school (e.g., preventive medicine, public health courses, rotations and seed resources for special programs at UT Health Science Center)
  • High school through undergraduate education (e.g., guest lectures, enrichment courses and internships)
